What are the services of the Nephrology Department?
The Nephrology Program provides the following services:
- Intermittent Hemodialysis with ten state-of-the-art machines, our unit is designed to handle the care of chronic end stage renal disease patients as well as those with acute kidney failure requiring dialysis. The unit also extended and provided its service for ICU inpatients, using 2 hemodialysis machines.
- We also offer Continuous form of dialysis called as CRRT to sick and hemodynamically unstable patients in the Intensive care unit.
- Daily consultation and follow up for patient with kidney disease and electrolyte disturbances admitted in other departments.
- Daily outpatient clinic offers a comprehensive care for all kidney related ailments like acute and chronic renal failure, hereditary kidney disease, primary and secondary hypertension, diabetic nephropathy, glomerulonephritis, renal calculus disease and urinary tract infections.
- Pre-transplant work-up for suitable patients and regular follow up after kidney transplantation providing the necessary laboratory evaluation and immunosuppressive medications.
- Plasma exchange therapy.
