The Maxillofacial Service at SKGH specializes in treating conditions of the mouth, face and neck using the uptodate technonlogies putting the patient at the core of its servicer Patients First.

The Maxillofacial service treat the common and rare conditions of the mouth, face and neck such as:
- Infections of the head and neck area
- Skin lesions, moles, scars of the face and neck area
- Diseases of the salivary glands
- Soft tissue injuries of the head and neck area and fractures (broken bones) of the facial skeleton
- Abnormal alignment and deviation of the upper and lower jaw (malocclusion) and asymmetry of the face
- Temporomandibular joint disorders
- Facial palsy and paralysis
- Injuries of nerves in the head and neck area
- Tumors of the head and neck area
- Atrophy of the jaw bones (when the bone of the jaws is less in quantity and quality than the average)
- Wisdom teeth which require surgical removal
- Cysts of the jaws
The highly trained staff at the Maxillofacial Service offer expert diagnosis and medical treatment for a wide range pathologies and disorders of the face, head and neck area.
The Maxillofacial Service provides services through an outpatient clinic, Emergency department and inpatient ward within the Surgical service. The diagnosis of the conditions is done using in the first line through thorough medical examination and then using up-to-date medical equipment. Further tests are done in collaboration with the radiology department and with other surgical and medical specialties.

- Surgical extraction of wisdom teeth and other teeth
- Apicoectomy (removal of the inflamed root tip of the teeth)
